He moved to New York in 1996 to further his career and passion for editorial hair styling. Today, he can be found on-set styling for top consumer magazines such as Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Oprah Magazine, Lucky, and shooting ad campaigns and lookbooks for cutting edge designers including Chris Benz, Modello, Ritani, Buckler, Justsweet and Armani Exchange.
When it comes to trend setting, Giuntoli is ahead of the game backstage at New York Fashion Week creating the trends for the next season as lead hair at shows such as Abaete, Michael Kors, Morgan D’Alessandro, Buckler, and Yoko Devereaux and works backstage at Badgley Mischka, Betsey Johnson, Cynthia Rowley, Carmen Marc Valvo, Tory Burch and more. In the Bridal arena, Giovanni is the go-to name for lead hair at Amsale, Kenneth Pool, and the Christos Bridal Fashion Week shows season after season, and additionally is Redken’s Bridal Expert. He facilitates the sold out ‘Dressing The Bride’ class at the Redken Exchange year after year, teaching not only about bridal hairstyles, but the art of bridal business as well, and also serves as Redken’s Expert for stories in top consumer bridal magazines such as Brides, and InStyle Weddings. Giuntoli’s prime role at Redken as an International Artist includes facilitating classes to students and industry professionals at every level all over the world, and works with the Marketing and Education teams to develop courses that fit the needs of the industry. His 16 years of experience has led him to the creation of Tearsheet, where he and his team train fellow professionals in the art of editorial styling. Additionally he has developed the Tearsheet Artistic Team to support, foster, and work with graduates to propel them to the highest levels of editorial, fashion, and trend styling possible – whether in the salon or on set.
